Website Design

Website design and development trends changes every year, and it's important for designers to stay up to date without having an outdated website. The major trends in web design are simplicity and responsive design. We should think about it in terms of user experience rather than the actual style of design as far as website design is concerned. Style of design is fairly irrelevant because it is quite subjective and there's no right or wrong answer there.

  • Responsive Design
  • Single page design

Simplicity

Many people will be thinking of the wrong about the meaning of simplicity, websites should not be simple or plain but we need to follow best usability practices in order to make the user experience as seamless as possible. Simplicity means to avoid designing your website or adding useless information which users do not need.

Responsive Design

A Responsive website changes the appearance and layout based on the size of the screen the website is displayed on and adapts to different phone and tablet sizes. Responsive websites can be easier to read on smaller screens. They can also be configured to make the buttons on the phone's screen easier to press. More different ways of using responsive design on a mobile device include: formatting the website to hide or present entirely different information, radically changing the graphics and colours and again for this year since mobile is quickly becoming the new standard. And because mobile is becoming the new standard, that means there will never be set to a website size anymore. Responsive Design is not just about changing the width of the layout, but rather revamping the page to improve the user experience across all different platforms and devices.

Single page design

Websites have a more number of pages that can be accessed using navigation links smaller sites with less content are easing away from this model to a simpler one, incorporating images and content onto a single web page. Single page design utilizes scrolling so that visitors do not have to search through different pages to find the information they wanted. While this trend is great for removing unnecessary clutter, but this technique of Single page design may not be suitable if your respective site is content-rich site or if you want to increase the SEO ranking for that website.
